Animals at the Floyd County Pound:
The Floyd County Humane Society DOES NOT RUN the Floyd County Animal Shelter. The Floyd County Animal Shelter is a state operated animal control facility and therefore it abides by state laws, including state euthanasia laws. Floyd County Humane Society has no control over this and we include these animals on our website to help promote the animal control facility and save the lives of the animals in their custody.
Dogs at the pound are only held for a short time please call 745-9365 to inquire about a dog who may be there.
All dates listed are the dates the animals are due to be euthanized. Because the shelter is completely filled with the promise of more dogs to come today, the dogs may not be held until the time listed. If you see a dog from the pound that interests you, call the shelter IMMEDIATELY!
There is a $10 adoption fee to adopt an animal from the shelter.
If you are interested in adopting a new companion animal, please check your local shelter first. Not only will you find a wide variety, you will also be saving a life. Please spay/neuter your pets, there aren't enough homes for them all!
To inquire about the following dogs, please call the shelter at 745-9365 during regular business hours. Thank you for saving a life.
