Adoption Procedures Below is a copy of the contents of an adoption contract that would be filled out and signed when adopting an animal from the county shelter. You can obtain a copy of the adoption agreement by visiting the shelter and adopting a new friend. ANIMAL SHELTER Release, Waiver and Disclosure
I hereby accept possession and title of the animal at my own risk and hereby release and waive any rights against the County of Pulaski, all it's employees and Board of Supervisors, which I may have now or in the future for any damages to person or property caused by said animal and to any health problem the animal may have now or in the future. Sterilization of this dog or cat is required under this article; (3.1-796.126:2) if a person violates this article they are subject to a civil penalty; and the new owner may be compelled to comply with the provisions of this article. If adopted dog or cat is lost or stolen or dies before animal is sterilized, the new owner shall notify Animal Care and Control within 7 days.
